WHAT: Summer is a time to let your imagination soar! It’s also the season for superhero movies. What would you do or be if you had no limits? Come to the Children’s Museum of Houston to explore your powers, the science of superhero animation, and ways you can be a hero every day.
Spotlight Performance — Captain Health: Heroes need to be healthy to save the world! Head to the Brown Auditorium to see this youth theatre performance geared toward the importance of good health.
Event time: Thursday, 6:30 pm during Free Family Night, 2pm Saturday
- Eco Avenger: Be a superhero for the planet at EcoStation! Create a superpower to save Earth, find and reduce the power sources that are sucking up energy, and match villains to their pollution sources.
- Explorations into Optical Illusions: Discover how optical illusions are used to animate stationary objects in a picture or fool the eye with colors and shapes. Animation has brought us some of the coolest superheroes so far!
- SuperJunktion: Make a cape, your own superhero symbol, and even a Super Door Hanger.
- Animate Your Story: Got a great superhero story to tell? Design and create your own animation stories through the techniques of stop motion.
Superhero Yoga: Try superhero yoga poses like the Superman and the Wonder Woman.

SUMMER MUSEUM HOURS: Mon. – Sat.; 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Sun: Noon – 6 p.m.
Second Saturday of every month open at 9 a.m. for members.
General Museum admission: $8 per person and $7 for seniors 65+ and for military personnel. Children under one and Museum Members receive free admission.
Free Family Night every Thursday 5 – 8 p.m.
