If your child received a notice from their school nurse that immunizations would be due to start the 2009-2010 school year, please provide these records before August 24, 2009.

Students whose immunization records are not up to date will not be allowed to attend class on the first day of school. Please contact the school nurse with any specific questions regarding your child's immunizations.

There are several new immunization requirements for the 2009-10 school year:

• Tdap is required for all students entering 7th grade if at least 5 years have passed since last dose of tetanus containing vaccine (DTaP/DPT/DT). If 5 years have not elapsed since the last dose of a tetanus containing vaccine at entry into the 7th grade, then this dose will become due as soon as the five year interval has passed.
• Two doses of MMR vaccine will be required for Kindergarten entry
• Two doses of Varicella vaccine are required if student was 13 years of age or older when first vaccinated OR if entering Kindergarten or 7th grade beginning SY 2009-2010
• Hepatitis A - A series of 2 doses (6-18 months apart) is required for students entering Kindergarten beginning SY 2009-2010
• Meningococcal vaccine - required for all students entering 7th grade beginning SY 2009-2010
