If you've ever wondered why you can purchase certain fruits and vegetables all year round, but you can't grow them yourself, it has to do with our climate. You can grow a lot of things in Texas, but you can't grow everything all year round.

I did a little research and ran across a website that list things for every area of the country. I wasn't too concerned with the rest of the nation so I found the things that were for the Texas area only.

So if you want to only buy things that you grows locally, here is a list to make it easier for you.

Also, don't forget The Katy Farmer's Market. It's a GREAT place to get fresh, organic produce.
