The Thanksgiving holidays are almost here and that means lots of family fun in Katy and the Houston area for not only Thanksgiving but the Christmas holidays as well.

Many activities begin the weekend before Thanksgiving and of course there are many family activities and events to choose from.

Home for the Holidays Gift Market- Nov. 19-21st, The Merrell Center
Home for the Holidays Festival and Tree Lighting- Nov. 20th, LaCenterra
Christmas Bazaar- Nov 20th, Grand Lakes Presbyterian
Flat Out Fun Day- Nov 20th, Nelson Farms Preserve
Lighting of the Doves- 3-9pm, The Woodlands. Nov. 20th.
YMCA's Turkey Dash- 5K, 1 mile kids race, 1 mile family walk/run. Thanksgiving Day.
HEB Thanksgiving Day Parade- 9am in downtown Houston. Thanksgiving Day.
Thanksgiving Celebration- 10-6pm at The Children's Museum. Nov. 26th.
Uptown Holiday Lighting- begins at 4pm on Post Oak Blvd between San Felipe & Westheimer. Nov. 26th.
Renaissance Festival- 9am-dusk. Nov 27 & 28th
Houston Zoo- 9am-6pm. Open the whole week of Thanksgiving (including Thanksgiving Day)
City-Wide Annual Thanksgiving Feast- Thanksgiving Day at the George R Brown convention center. Great way to volunteer together. Call 713.523.1640
