Children’s Museum of Houston celebrates one of the world’s most influential regions with fun cultural activities May 13 - 19th. Honor Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with a special week all about America’s Asian and Pacific ancestors, culture and contributions.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

• Spotlight Performance — Sheldon Elementary Singing Bobcat Choir: Head to the Auditorium to hear this talented group of kids singing for kids! Event time: Thursday, 6:30 p.m. during Free Family Night
• Spotlight Performance — Shannon Yap: Listen to the spellbinding melodies of youth guzheng soloist Shannon Yap in the Auditorium. Event time: Saturday, 2 p.m.

ONGOING ACTIVITIES:

• The Science of Culture: Experiment with some fun science activities based on Asian cultural traditions, including origami boats, Asian musical instruments and film canister fireworks at Science Station.
• Inventive Origami: Discover how an ordinary sheet of paper can be transformed into a large variety of objects using the Japanese art of paper folding! It only takes a few simple, geometric folds to make beautiful 3-D art.
• Kidtropolis Diner Special: Become a sushi chef in our kid-run city to celebrate Japanese cuisine in Kidtropolis, USA.
• Asian Pacific American Junktion: Make a kite, a calligraphy counting book and a luau lei!
