On April 30th from 5 - 10pm you can enjoy a small scoop of icecream from Baskin-Robbins for 31 cents. The special price is to honor the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

Baskin-Robbins will be donating $100,000 to the national organization and will also be taking donations for our local firefighters at the store.

Here are 8 tips to prevent a fire in your home:

1. Install and maintain smoke alarms
2. If you smoke, be safe and dispose of properly
3. Stay aware while cooking- never walk away and leave something on the stove)
4. Use electricity wisely- avoid using extension cords and have an electrician check the wiring in your home
5. Lock up matches and lighters to avoid "little hands" from getting them
6. Have a fire plan and discuss it with your family so that everyone knows what to do- regular fire drills will help your children remember
7. On cold days, heat your home safely
8. Teach your children how to use 9-1-1 responsibly

Never thought to have regular fire drills at home but that's a good idea that I think we'll start doing.
