The Children’s Museum of Houston (CMH) will host its 10th annual Day of the Child Celebration in which you will have the opportunity to learn about Mexico.
The event will focus on enriching your life with the value of bilingual literacy. “Children's Day" is celebrated on various days in many places around the world to honor kids. In Mexico, it is celebrated on April 30 and it is known as "El día del niño".

• Spotlight Performance: Mariachi Hermosura Juvenil. Enjoy the lively sounds of Mexico’s traditional music.
• Este es mi México 2010 Award Recipient and 2011 Artist Call: Join Consul General Luis Malpica in honoring last year’s winner, Valeria Guzman, 9, and hear his invitation to participate in this year’s drawing contest which focuses on Mexican traditional dishes.
• Mago Kornel: Bringing magic and fantasy into one spectacular show and making the impossible seem possible.
• Houston Dynamo: Makes their way to the event full speed ahead.
• Bilingual Story Time in the Parent Resource Library: Take home a book with you! Stories will highlight Latino authors, storytellers and poets.

• Yalálag: A Mountain Village in México Exhibit. Take a journey “South of the border” to a village located in the Sierra Juárez Mountains of Oaxaca, México.
