The City of Katy and Katy VFW Post 9182 present a special remembrance ceremony on the 10-year anniversary of the September 11, 2001.

A reading of the names of those who died on 9-11 will begin at noon and take approximately 6-1/2 hours to complete. Local Boy Scout, Girl Scout and military will assist in reading the names.

Willow Fork Fire Dept will have a traditional salute to fallen firefighters and Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard will provide a 21-gun salute and playing of “Taps.”

All citizens are encouraged to participate as a reminder of the importance of why September 11th should never be forgotten.

In the unlikely event of rain, the observance will be held at the Katy VFW Post, 6202 George Bush Drive, in the City of Katy.
