What:            Now that August is behind us, it’s time to get outdoors again! KPC invites you out for an unguided tour of Barn Owl Woods, a stand of upland forest right in the middle of the prairie. Prairie birds and other critters love this cool place in the middle of the prairie grassland. You’ll walk along a mulched trail to spy some of the dazzling away of wildlife, including owls and treefrogs that call Barn Owl Woods home.

Where:                  Nelson Farms - Barn Owl Woods — part of KPC’s Nelson Farms Preserve, Barn Owl Woods is a motte of upland riparian forest that serves as a cool respite from the heat of the prairie. Wildlife thrives in this cool refuge.
