The Houston Downtown Alliance, Art Carts of Houston, Inc., City of Houston Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department and Houston Arts Alliance present the first annual Festival of Lights. Don’t miss this fabulously funky holiday evening featuring Austin’s The Invincible Czars performing The Nutcracker Suite, GLOW-O-RAMA, an illuminated art car parade and AfterGlow, a post parade celebration. The craziness gets started at 7:30 at Discovery Green as Austin’s amazing rock band The Invincible Czars perform their wacky version of the The Nutcracker Suite. Afterward at 9 the main attraction, Houston’s first nighttime art car parade GLOW-O-RAMA, will roll down Avenida de las Americas, giving people a chance to see art cars as they’ve never seen them before. Spectacular lighting and special effects make these cars completely new works of art when the sun sets. The Invincible Czars performance and art car parade are free to the public. Celebrate afterward with the art car artists and see the cars close up and personal at AfterGlow, the post parade party. Featuring live music, food and drink, the party promises to be an evening to remember.
