Hundreds of Katy-area residents will take steps against multiple sclerosis (MS) by joining the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Lone Star Chapter for Walk MS: Katy, presented by KBR, at Katy Mills Mall on Saturday, Nov. 14.

The Lone Star Chapter aims to raise $30,000 to drive research and support vital programs and services that address the needs and challenges faced by an estimated 20,000 Texans affected by MS living in the Lone Star Chapter.

A family-friendly event, Walk MS: Katy, presented by KBR, features a one mile loop inside the mall, breakfast from Panera Bread, entertainment from the Katy High Flyers, a silent auction and lunch from Hasta La Pasta.

Day-of-event registration and check-in begins at 8 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. start time. There is a no fee to register and no minimum pledge requirement; however, the average walker raises $225 to support Lone Star Chapter research initiatives, programs and services.
