Hundreds of Katy-area residents will lace up their shoes for the Walk MS: Katy at Katy Mills Mall on September 27. The goal – to raise $30,000 to help the estimated 20,000 Texans living with multiple sclerosis (MS) and their families served by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Lone Star Chapter. The Lone Star Chapter invites families, friends, co-workers and neighbors to Katy Mills Mall to walk for a cure. The event features a one-mile loop inside the mall, breakfast from Panera Bread and entertainment from the Katy High Flyers. Last year’s Lone Star Chapter walks raised more than $1 million to support research, services and programs for the Lone Star Chapter. Visit www.walkmstexas.org to register for the walk, support a walker, or volunteer. There is a no registration fee and no minimum pledge commitment; however the average walker raises $225. Registration is available through 8 a.m. the day of the event.
