WHAT:   Houston’s heating up and summer vacation is upon us! Let your mind play as we bring the “beach” to the Children’s Museum to celebrate this sensational season!

• Spotlight Performance — Tom’s Fun Band: Jump and jive in the Auditorium with Tom’s Fun Band, a musical trio just for kids! Event times: Thursday, 6:30 p.m. during Free Family Night  Saturday, 2 p.m.
• Beach Animals: Whistle like a dolphin! Head to EcoStation to learn about aquatic animals like dolphins, oysters and jellyfish.

• Water Wonders: The Science of Water: Explore air pressure, volume and density using everyone’s favorite thing during a Houston summer: H2O. Play with Cartesian divers, foil boats, twisting tornados and more at Science Station.
• Beach Volleyball Bash: How many calories can you burn while playing this sandy favorite at Power Science Lab?
• Silky Sticks: Blend the vibrant colors of a beach sunset into bold drawings at the Alexander Art Academy.
• Beach Junktion: Make a cool summer Face Shade to protect your face from the sun, transform a paper plate into a spiraling wind decoration, and create ocean scenes that you can see through a porthole!

Second Saturday of every month open at 9 a.m. for members.

• General Museum admission: $8 per person and $7 for seniors 65+ and for military personnel. Children under one and Museum Members receive free admission.

Free Family Night every Thursday 5 – 8 p.m.
