ON-GOING ACTIVITIES:
New Year’s Puzzles: Find the hidden New Year’s words in the word search puzzle or fill in the blanks from the clues on the New Year’s crossword.
Calendars: Decorate your own 2010 calendar to hang up at home.
Noise Makers: Make a noisy noise maker to help ring in the New Year in a festive way.
Explorations into Fireworks: Celebrate New Year’s with a leap into the sky! Join us at Science Station as we explore the characteristics which make fireworks brilliant: noise, color, smoke, and projection. Find out how fireworks are made to create these dynamic effects.
    
SPECIAL EVENTS:
Houston Youth Orchestra: Spotlight Performance.  Enjoy a fresh new show when this small ensemble of kids performs classical and chamber music. Saturday, January 2: 2 p.m.
Electromechanical Folk Art Workshop: Let your mind run wild with future possibilities! Take apart broken appliances like VCRs, radios, computers, and more and explore their inner workings. See something you like? Take it and use it as you build your own invention and/or art piece!
