LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch hosts Step into Scouting with the Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of the San Jacinto Area Council. A Membership Drive for the Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, this event will celebrate the fun and friendship that goes along with scouting. Booths and demonstrations will highlight the events that take place during the scouting year including the Pinewood Derby, Rain Gutter Regatta, Trails End Popcorn Sales and Girl Scout Cookie Sale, as well as the skills and achievements that go with each level of scouting.

The 2009 event will include a food drive to benefit Katy Christian Ministries (KCM). Participating Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will organize the drive as a community service project. Donations will be accepted during the Step into Scouting event at the on-site KCM Food Pantry collection point. Scout leaders and scouting representatives will be on hand to answer question and provide registration information. Don’t miss the chance to Step into Scouting!
