The Literacy Council of Fort Bend and LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch will be hosting “Books in Bloom”, a celebration of reading that benefits literacy programs and increases awareness of free public programs available through LCFBC.Programs benefiting include basic literacy, English as a Second Language, Badges & Books, Job Readiness workshops and GED preparation classes. Guests can purchase books, meet visiting authors, enjoy dramatic readings and face painting, have lunch with Mother Goose at a children’s brownbag lunch story hour and enjoy Mr. Freddie of Opus One Music performing children’s classic songs and more.Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center will present dramatic readings from Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak and Katy ARTReach will be onsite with a public art project specially designed for LCFBC.
