CrossPoint Community Church invites the community to view the Christmas village and model train display in the church commons.

The Christmas Village can be viewed through Jan. 9. Viewing times are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The display features more than 190 square feet of lighted buildings, trees, ice skating rinks and a ski slope, all surrounded by three working locomotives and a model car track.

Sports Ministry Director John Moore builds the village every year in homage to his father and great uncle, who are train collectors and model railroaders.

Moore said, “Creating the village is a way to share my family’s Christmas tradition with the Katy community.”

Many of the buildings and trains in the village have been passed down to Moore from his family, and he adds a few new pieces every year.

Families, schools and day-care centers can schedule a field trip to view the village by calling CrossPoint at 281-398-6464. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
